See the country side on well paved roads, some climbing with very little traffic. Stop at the top of 5 mile hill and take a picture of the valleys wheat fields with the foot of the Blue Mountains in the background.
This is a great route to improve stamina and challenge yourself over the 30 mile route.

Leaving from Pioneer Park you will traverse on some of the best back roads close to town.
These roads have little traffic, good asphalt, will take you past two wineries and finishes downtown where you can end your ride with coffee, wine or great food.

Leaving from the Rose Garden/Aviary at Pioneer Park you will head West and then North through the agricultural wheat fields that have been the main income producing crop for our valley (challenged now by the wine industry). There is some climbing but for the most part, this is a very enjoyable 35 mile ride.
This is a great route to avoid traffic and see the agricultural beauty of the Walla Walla Valley.

From downtown Walla Walla south then East to Mill Creek Rd. Return via 5 Mile Hill to 2nd St. and back to downtown.
Starting from downtown Walla Walla you will head East towards the Blue Mountains. Following Mill Creek, you will find yourselves riding along tree lined, low traffic, county roads.
This is a favorite route of many of the area cyclists.

Starting from downtown Walla Walla you will head South then West through the rolling wheatlands of Walla Walla County.
There are two wineries in Lowden you can visit. On the return trip you might want to stop at Whitman Mission which is only about 800 feet off the route.

Very scenic route from Pioneer Park to Milton-Freewater, Oregon. From there you will head West through Umapine where you will be in orchard country. There is a small store here where you can fuel up. Then on to Frog Hollow Road where you will ride through wheat country, then through residential areas on your way back to Pioneer Park.
This is a ride with rolling hills, wine and wheat fields.

This route is backroads with little traffic with rollers and one challenging hill.
The roads and shoulders are nice to ride on. Of special note, there is a 2 mile hill coming out of Waitsburg at the 22.9 mile mark that is used during the Tour of Walla Walla.

This is a great country ride heading west from Walla Walla. Once you get out of College Place you will see a lot of agricultural landscape and seldom traveled roads.
Great exercise ride with rolling hills. Make sure to take water and fuel with you as there is no place to stop for them.

This is a wonderful, agricultural ride. You will find yourself heading through the wheat and wine grape vineyards and more. If you are so inclined, visit the L'Ecole No 41 and Woodward Canyon Wineries. One 1/2 mile stretch follows Hwy 12 that you must cross but the rest of the route is extremely light of traffic

Heading North out of Walla Walla you will see agricultural fields and rolling hills. Afer heading through Waitsburg you will traverse the backroads to Waitsburg with a 10% gradient hill at the 30.5 mile marker. Travel on Hwy 12 is safe with (with good shoulders and light to medium traffic)
