Leave Walla Walla and go to Waitsburg (WTSB) via Middle WTSB road, take highway to Dayton, put in food order at Patit Valley Products Cafe, explain to Bev that you'll be back a bit later, head out of Dayton just past Seneca processing plant and take immediate right onto Patit road, enjoy one of the area's sweetest gradual Blue Mountain ascents around (esp in spr, sum, fall), 10 miles up is the objective, past the Emu farm to the N. Patit road sign, turn around and enjoy a fast but calorie-blowing downhill, eat at the cafe (great outside area in back w/ cool mural & water fountain; very Euroesque), take a cat nap if needed, slam espressos, jump on bike and return to Walla Walla. The cafe is closed on some days, so be sure to check on that or be ready to fuel at Dayton's convenience stores. Map will go here
